Who will be attending the Whale Shark conference in Holbox

Hi,
not from the board but I would love to attend. Sadly, like last year, the dates for it popped up out of nowhere and much too late to apply for travel funding. Last year I was invited to give a talk and lost a lot of cash because of the flight cancellation. This year I am again surprised by the lack of email correspondence, it would be great if info on the conference could be gathered here. I live in Germany and was devastated when last year's conference was cancelled, but I had hoped that the next conference would be announced in time to apply properly for funding. Now it looks like I will be missing it entirely, which is sad news because the whale sharks in Costa Rica still don't have representation (bar the hard work of the NGO Pretoma) and the area is under constant threat of light speed development, heavy sedimentation from logging and a large amount of unregulated motor boat traffic.

If anybody has any great ideas for last minute travel funding I would be eternally thankful. In return I would not only be happy to share my data but can also offer to collect video material of the conference (Canon XL1s).
