The Oceanic Research Group led by Jonathan Bird has just put up a new video on their web site: "Sharks: Predators with a Purpose"
http://www.oceanicresearch.org/education/films/predators_qt.htmIt is the best "save the sharks" piece I have seen in awhile. The scientific accuracy seems good (many documentaries, especially for whale sharks, are full of inaccuracies), and it's truly more about selling the conservation idea than selling the "personality" of the cameraman. The length is also good (17 minutes) for a web audience, as is the narration. I had a chance to dive with the cameraman (Jonathan Bird) in the Galapagos in 2004. His footage of whale sharks from his many trips there is prominently featured in the piece.
Check it out.
