Hi all,

A movie clip of an apparently-pregnant whale shark (or it's very, very 'big-boned'), taken at the Galapagos Islands in September 2007, has just been uploaded to YouTube:

Great to see!

Cheers,
   Simon.

Sharks exhibiting engorged belly regions have been brought to my attention several times over recent years.
Next week, at the invitation of the Charles Darwin Foundation in the Galapagos, I will be introducing the ECOCEAN Library and training local stakeholders there in its use.
This provides the ideal opportunity to begin further investigations on the possibility of a breeding area for whale sharks at this location.
I will keep forum participants informed of any developments.
