I saw my first whale shark on July 17th in Cancun Mexico. It was incredible. I just followed on the surface while the shark was about 6 feet below. Impressive creatures. I like how they just 'appear' out of the haze of the water all of the sudden.  We saw 4 sharks that day. One of them was tagged.
My question is how in the heck to measure them?
I don't have a clue on how to measure them.
I did get some pictures of the one with the tag. If I had known at that time the information I now know, I would have taken more pictures of all of them and noted the location, other than cancun.
I am looking forward to my vacation next year, I am planning on doing it again, except with a purpose of photographing as many as I can in 8 hours.....

Hi

Thats great to hear on one of the reasons Ecocean we designed the way it is so that anyone can enter information.

A good way of estimating a Whale Sharks size is to find out how big the boat you are on is and then judge it against that.
